VAPTECH has a long experience and traditions in design and manufacturing of a wide variety of valves and gates.The company is offering closing and isolating structures that are developed for the specific project parameters but we have also developed standardized range of valves based on their main input and design parameters.
The closing structures and their subcomponents are stress tested with finite elements method including the use of special software.All the production processes including welding, heat treatment, machining, surface treatment, functional testing and pressure testing are performed in the manufacturing workshop of VAPTECH. During the manufacturing process VAPTECH applies a strict system of control including mainly destructive testing, non-destructive testing (DT, VT, MT, PT, UT, RT and others). Some of the tests are performed by independent companies and laboratories.
Butterfly valves are used as safety hydraulic systems for low or medium pressure with minimum head loss when the water is passing through the rotor. The standard line of VAPTECH Butterfly valves covers diameter range from 300 to 1400 mm and pressure ratings 6, 10, 16 and 25 bar. The valve opening is realized with a hydraulic cylinder and the closing is with a counter weight.
Outside the standard line VAPTECH develops butterfly valves with specific pressure up to 40 bar and diameter up to 5000 mm. Depending on the relation between inlet diameter, pressure and water speed the rotor is designed as a disk or as a lattice. The valve function can be alternatively realized with a double acting hydraulic cylinder, an electrical actuator or with a handwheel. Additionally the valve can be equipped with an upstream and downstream pipes, bypass system, hydraulic pressure unit and digital control system.
Spherical valves are guarding hydraulic structures used for high pressure without any head losses when the water is passing through the rotor.
The standard line of VAPTECH Spherical valves is designed for diameter range from 300 to 1000 mm and pressure ratings 40, 63 and 100 bar. The valve opening is realized with a hydraulic cylinder and the closing is with a counter weight. The seal of the rotor to the valve body is realized by a movable stainless steel sealing that is actuated through a water-oil pressure system.
Outside the standard line VAPTECH develops spherical valves for a specific pressure and with diameters up to 3000 mm. The sealing system can be optionally equipped with an additional maintenance seal that, when activated, allows for inspection of the main seal without draining of the penstock water.

Used as an inlet and control valve in hydropower installations, needle valves are also used for water supply, water treatment and sewage operations. Needle valves are characterized by high degree of accuracy in pressure and flow control. The heavy duty design of the valve ensures low maintenance and long product life.

Roller gates are commonly used for large waterway openings. The structure is designed to transfer the water pressure to the rollers which significantly lower the operating load and increase the safety of operations in case of emergency.
The construction consists of a gate leaf which is welded to the steel structure along with a steel slide with cast iron rollers. The dimensions of the roller gates are tailor-made to the specific requirements of the site and customer needs.
Intended for wide waterways or spillways, radial gates also called Tainter Gates, are used for water level regulation and flow diversion. Radial gates are applied in a variety of projects such as flood control, irrigation and hydropower generation. The low operating cost of this particular type of hydro gate is due to an efficient and low maintenance design.
Stop logs are used for level control in a river, canal, or reservoir. They are designed to temporarily block flow through a spillway or canal during routine maintenance and can be used as well over longer periods during floods.
