El proyecto Chaira tiene una capacidad total de 864 megavatios y una capacidad de bombeo de 788 megavatios. El proyecto Chaira consta de cuatro turbinas bomba Francis reversibles, cada una con una producci\u00f3n de 216 megavatios en el modo de generaci\u00f3n y de 197 megavatios en el modo de bombeo. En ese momento, Chaira ostentaba el r\u00e9cord de ser la central hidroel\u00e9ctrica de acumulaci\u00f3n por bombeo m\u00e1s grande del sureste de Europa.
