South America is a key market for hydropower development mainly due to its growth in the industrial and commercial sectors. Hydropower forms the backbone of many national power systems in the region, and there remains an estimated 430 GW of unexploited hydropower potential in the region.
The project has been renewed with electromechanical equipment that is produced and integrated by VAPTECH. The scope of supply comprises of: the design and manufacturing of the complete electromechanical equipment including, two horizontal Francis turbines, synchronous generators, butterfly valves (DN800, PN10), digital control systems, hydraulic pressure unit, transportation of the equipment, installation, supervision and commissioning.
