VAPTECH was awarded with the delivery of electromechanical equipment for two hydro projects in Bulgaria –Baba Tsveta HPP and Oshtava HPP. Both hydropower plants are located in Blagoevgrad area, Bulgaria.

Baba Tsveta HPP

Baba Tsveta HPP will be equipped with full electromechanical equipment developed and integrated by VAPTECH. The plant will use the waters of the rivers Elovitsa and Strujka in South Est Bulgaria. The plant will operate with two different horizontal Francis turbines with total capacity 1140 kW. Unit 1 will be designed and manufactured with maximum power 739 kW and rated speed 1000 rpm and Unit 2 with power 401 kW at a rated speed of 1000 rpm.

According to the contract, VAPTECH will also deliver full scope water-to-wire solution including main inlet butterfly valves DN600 PN16 and DN400 PN16, two horizontal three-phase synchronous generator, hydraulic pressure unit, PLC-based automation system, middle voltage electrical equipment, supervision of installation and commissioning works.

Oshtava HPP

Oshtava HPP will be equipped with a vertical Pelton turbine with 4 injectors at a rated speed of 750 rpm. The hydropower plant will use the waters of river Oshtava and will be operated with VAPTECH’ equipment under net head of 205,2 m and a maximum discharge of 1,0 m3/s.

Within the scope of supply, VAPTECH is going to deliver also main inlet butterfly valves DN600 PN25, synchronous generator, hydraulic pressure unit, PLC-based automation system, SCADA system, supervision of installation and commissioning works.
